Julia Slanina, Founder and CEO of Treehouse, Continues Leading Company Through Upcoming Cancer Treatment

Julia Slanina is More Committed than Ever to Treehouse’s Mission

Ottawa, ON – December 17, 2024 – Julia Slanina, Founder and CEO of Treehouse, an Ottawa based digital health company focused on improving healthcare for aspiring, expectant, and new families across Canada, has recently been diagnosed with cervical cancer. Despite her diagnosis, Julia remains steadfast in her commitment to the company's mission and remains deeply committed to continuing to lead Treehouse as she undergoes treatment.

"I am incredibly grateful for the support I've received from my team, family, friends and the community since my diagnosis, and I’m all the more determined to continue driving Treehouse forward.," said Slanina. "Our mission to simplify the connection between allied healthcare providers and families, and ultimately improve clinical outcomes, is more important than ever to me. While navigating my treatment, I will be working closely with our leadership team to ensure that Treehouse stays on course and continues to innovate for the families and care-providers we serve."

Treehouse, under Julia’s leadership, has been pioneering solutions that address critical gaps in community healthcare, particularly for families navigating pregnancy, parenting, and early childhood. The company’s software tool aggregates data to improve collaboration among healthcare providers, offering a more integrated and efficient approach to family care.

Julia's passion for healthcare innovation and community-building extends beyond Treehouse. She is a recognized advocate for digital health, serving as a Coralus Activator and contributing to organizations such as Femtech Canada and KidsUpFront. Julia has also been featured in prestigious publications like Forbes and The Logic. Her volunteer work with the Ottawa Network for Education (ONFE) and JA Ottawa focuses on teaching entrepreneurial skills, financial literacy, and work readiness to children from grades 5 to 12.

"Thank you for all the support and belief of my team, stakeholders, and the broader community,” Slanina added. “I look forward to continuing to drive the vital work we are doing at Treehouse, and I am confident that, with the collective efforts of everyone involved, we will continue to achieve success”.

The entire Treehouse team remains committed to its mission of improving the healthcare experience for families across Canada, with plans to roll out new features and collaborations in the coming months. For updates and more information on Treehouse’s journey, visit www.growwithtreehouse.com.
